Slow Measured Crawl I, 2005
For Slow Measured Crawl, the artist unraveled a roll of adding machine tape onto the floor of the Zygote Press Gallery (Cleveland, OH). Using a small steel ruler and a chained pocket watch, he carefully drew one-inch increments onto the scroll, labeling each with the current hour, minute and second. The action began at the base of one of the gallery walls and ended when the artist reached the opposite wall—one hour, three minutes and one second later.
